Travelopia approached us, Parker Design, to create a suite of brochures for 2020, one of the brands was Hayes & Jarvis with all three brochures having to be designed and printed in just 12 weeks. The holidays on offer were spread across three magazines; Worldwide (179pg), Far East (135pg) and USA & Canada (135pg).
The content was mixed between general information and detailed guides including; places of interest, professional tours, detailed maps and premier accommodation. Continuity and precision were highly important when flowing copy into the document and adjusting the layout design to account for image selection and client amends. Working as part of a team towards such a strict deadline taught me a lot about the fast paced nature of editorial design and print production on high budget projects.
"A big piece of work that ended in some special brochures, something to be proud of!"

Process & Development
Over the course of this project I improved greatly in key areas and gained valuable experience that enabled me to become a more complete designer. This was firstly down to the variety of designers and editors, freelance and in-house, that took on active roles producing the documents. Secondly due to the rising levels of responsibilities I was given as the project progressed, at the launch of the project I was tasked with creating all the maps across each magazine and taking on a large amount of image research. By the time the twelve weeks were over I was designing full sections of the documents creating dozens spreads and editorial features.
